Do you need a mindset coach?

In a nutshell, mindset coaching helps you with things that are hard.  The human mind is incredibly powerful, but it can get hung up.  As an expert sleep coach, I work with people to overcome their sleep difficulties and move toward getting what they want from their sleep AND wakefulness.  I created Super Sleep MD to focus on those who have trouble with their sleep apnea treatment (most often CPAP).   

The word “mindset” may seem a little fuzzy to some.  What does it mean?  Mindset is your patterns of thinking that evolved over time, starting in childhood.  Your beliefs, your opinions, your reactions to situations.  Your mindset is unique to you.  Your mindset steers how you feel and act in the world.  It affects how you interpret the world around you, and your internal world.  

Mindset coaching focuses on where you are now, and helps to deliberately choose the path to where you want to be. The work is recognizing and questioning patterns of thought that keep you stuck or going in the wrong direction.  Unraveling these maladaptive thought patterns is important work as you strive to achieve fulfillment in life.  Mental barriers hold you back, and are often beliefs operating unchecked in your subconscious.  A coach has an external perspective and takes an unbiased approach to help you become aware of your thinking.  This allows you to change your perspective, change your approach, and start creating the change you want to see in your life.  A coach challenges thought patterns that are not working for you– so you can get unstuck.  Working with a coach accelerates your progress toward your goals.  

It is not therapy, positive affirmations, or woo woo.  Yes, there are lots of different skill levels in coaching.  And compatibility is important.  This is one of those things where what you get out of it is proportional to what you put in.  The skills are broadly applicable to the game of life.

Where sleep is concerned, I find mindset adjustments to be extremely helpful for those I coach. Everybody sleeps, and everybody has opinions about their sleep and wakefulness–especially those who don’t sleep well!  When you lie in bed awake, you are steeping in your thoughts and feelings.  With my expertise and coaching perspective, I am able to help people achieve their sleep goals more effectively. I will meet you where you are and walk with you, step by step as you build confidence.  I invite new possibilities to your awareness.  I hold you accountable.  I call out expectations that may be unrealistic.  I can help you get creative with troubleshooting and lay out flexible responses to setbacks.  Think of me as a guide through your process; I will empower you to use the techniques long after we part ways.  The first thing I need from you is your belief that you have the capacity to improve.
